Duplicator
Tested by us on 15 October 2026 with Duplicator 5.0.6, from ChatGPT and Claude, on every AI Puffer plan. The overview with recipes is on the Duplicator page.
Tested
Section titled “Tested”| Job | How |
|---|---|
| Back up the whole site, or only the database | duplicator/create-backup |
| Check that a backup finished, is usable, and what it includes | duplicator/get-backup-status |
| List your backups | duplicator/list-backups |
| Restore a backup | Duplicator’s own screen in wp-admin; your assistant gives you the link |
We restored real full backups on separate test sites: posts, settings and uploaded files came back exactly as they were before.
How restoring works
Section titled “How restoring works”Duplicator doesn’t share a restore ability, so a restore never runs from chat. Your assistant finds the right backup and gives you its link. In Duplicator, select Restore, check the site and database it will overwrite, and confirm. When it’s done, sign in again to finish and remove the installer files, then check your site.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Starting a backup isn’t finishing it: Duplicator builds it in the background. Your assistant checks until it’s complete and usable.
- A database-only backup leaves out files, uploads, themes and plugins.
- Backups stay on your server, where Duplicator keeps them. Off-site storage, encrypted archives and other backup plugins aren’t tested.
- Restoring rewinds everything in the database to that moment, including AI Puffer’s own connection settings and activity records.
