Update a custom text field
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeSet the “summary” field on my spring prices post to “Spring prices, in one page.” Change nothing else.
Changes your site. Standard asks you first in wp-admin; Trusted does it directly.
What happens
Section titled “What happens”- Your assistant reads the post with its ACF fields through the REST API.
- It sends only that field back with
write_rest_route, then reads it back.
Try also
Section titled “Try also”- “What’s in the summary field of my last three posts?” (Reads only.)
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The field group needs “Show in REST” switched on in ACF.
- Text fields are tested. Images, repeaters and relationships come later.
