Connect Claude
Use AI Puffer 2.5.20 or later. You can start in WordPress or from AI Puffer in Claude’s directory. Your assistant works within the permissions and safety level you choose.
Installing AI Puffer for the first time? Install and connect walks you through the account and assistant setup.
Start in WordPress
Section titled “Start in WordPress”- In setup, select Connect Claude. On an existing site, open AI Puffer › Settings › Connections › Manage my website, or the Dashboard’s website card. Finish account setup and email verification if prompted.
- Check the safety level and WordPress user shown. Trusted, the default, runs supported changes directly. Choose Standard to approve protected changes first, or Read only to prevent changes. Claude can never do more than the connected WordPress user. See Safety levels.
- In Settings, select Set up next to Claude. Select Open AI Puffer in Claude to open its directory listing, then Connect to Claude.
- On AI Puffer’s consent screen, check the website, user and access level, then choose Allow.
- Return to WordPress. Setup detects the connection automatically. With AI Puffer 2.5.21 or later, the open Dashboard or Settings panel does too. Select Check now in setup or Check in the panel if it has not updated.
Finish in the same browser, within 10 minutes of opening the setup link.
Already connected in Claude? On the listing, choose Disconnect from its actions menu, then Connect to Claude. Start a new setup link in WordPress if yours has expired.
Start from the Claude directory
Section titled “Start from the Claude directory”Install or update the AI Puffer WordPress plugin first.
- Open AI Puffer in Claude’s directory and select Connect to Claude.
- Enter your website address and select Continue in WordPress. Include the installation’s subdirectory if WordPress is installed in one.
- Sign in on your own WordPress site. If your AI Puffer account is not ready, select Set up my account, finish the existing email verification, then Check account.
- Check the website, WordPress user and safety level, then select Continue to Claude.
- Review AI Puffer’s consent screen and choose Allow. You return to Claude with the connector connected.
