Upload an image from your device
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeUpload this original photo to my media library as “Summer garden”, with the alt text “Flowers beside a garden path”. Reuse the saved image if it is already uploaded.
Creates a draft or uploads an image. See the recipe below for approval requirements.
What happens
Section titled “What happens”- In ChatGPT, attach the image. Your assistant uploads the original file and checks it arrived unchanged.
- In Claude, your assistant gives you your site’s WordPress upload page. Choose the file there, then return to the chat and say “Done”.
- Your assistant finds the saved image and checks its title and alt text before using it. If more than one image could match, it asks you to choose instead of guessing.
Try also
Section titled “Try also”- “…then set it as the featured image of my spring draft. Keep the draft unpublished.”
- “Use the image I just uploaded. Don’t upload another copy.”
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB. For SVG, see Add an SVG logo or icon.
- At Standard, new images and draft edits run directly. Editing a published post requires approval.
- Claude uses the WordPress upload page because it cannot pass chat attachments to other apps. If your assistant cannot identify the saved image, provide its filename or choose from the images it finds.
- Your assistant can check for a manually uploaded image using no website actions or AI credits. It checks the saved file details, not the picture’s content.
- The upload reference expires after one hour and applies only to new images uploaded by the connected WordPress user. After expiry, ask your assistant to search for the saved image instead of uploading another copy.
