Images2 minutesChangesTested 15 Oct 2026
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeFind the image called “Spring shop window” and set its alt text to “Shop window with spring flowers”.

Changes your site. Standard asks you first in wp-admin; Trusted does it directly.

What happens

Section titled “What happens”
  1. Your assistant finds the image with search_media and reads it with get_media.
  2. It changes only the alt text with update_media.

Try also

Section titled “Try also”
  • “Which of my last 20 images have no alt text?” (Reads only.) For many at once, see Fill in missing alt text for all images.

Good to know

Section titled “Good to know”
  • At Standard this asks first, because the image may already be on a live page.
  • Captions and descriptions aren’t changed.
