Rules and connected apps

Both live under Features › Automations and are Pro.

A rule says: when something happens, and these checks match, do this action.

When: a visitor sends a message, a chat starts, a visitor sends a form, or something goes wrong.

Checks look at the visitor, their message, the chat, the AI model, where they came from, the page, or the error. All checks must match; a rule with no checks always runs.

Actions:

  • Reply with a message, optionally skipping the AI answer.
  • Show a form in the chat: short or long answers, dropdowns, checkboxes, choices.
  • Add instructions for the AI for this answer.
  • Block the message.
  • Send to a webhook.
  • Remember a value for the visitor or the chat.
  • Save the form answers.

Rules run in Order, lowest first. Examples to start from: answer price questions with your pricing link, ask for contact details on the pricing page, stop messages that share phone numbers, and tell your team when something breaks.

Send what happens in the chat to Slack, HubSpot, Notion, Pipedrive, Zapier, Make or n8n.

  1. Connect the app under Settings › Connections › Apps.
  2. In the chatbot, choose which events go there: a chat starts, a visitor sends a message, the chatbot replies, a visitor rates a reply, or a visitor fills in the chat form.

An app can serve all chatbots, this one, or some. Its status shows whether it’s Ready or needs attention.
