Limits and safety

Under Publish › Usage limits, set how much each person may use, so a busy day or a misuse doesn’t spend all your credits.

  • Guests: visitors who aren’t logged in. Leave it empty for unlimited, or 0 to stop guests chatting.
  • Logged-in users: one limit for everyone, or By role with a limit per WordPress role.
  • Starts over: never, daily, weekly or monthly.

Limits count tokens, the units AI models are measured in. If you sell credits to your visitors with Usage › Visitor billing, limits count those credits instead.

When someone reaches it sets the message they see and up to two buttons, for example to a page where they can buy credits.

These apply to all chatbots, and to AI forms and images too. Find them under Settings › Security:

  • Blocked words: messages containing them are refused.
  • Blocked IP addresses: those visitors can’t chat. You can also block an address from a conversation in Usage.
  • Anonymize visitor IPs: store shortened addresses only.

For chatbots on an OpenAI model, Settings › AI › OpenAI › Check messages for harmful content runs OpenAI’s moderation before answering.

Settings › Security › Who can use AI Puffer, or the Role Manager, decides which WordPress roles can open the chatbot settings.
