Redirection
Tested by us on 15 October 2026 with Redirection 5.10.1 and Yoast SEO 28.7, from ChatGPT and Claude. The overview with recipes is on the Redirection page.
Tested
Section titled “Tested”| Job | How |
|---|---|
| List redirects, create one (301 or 302) | REST /redirection/v1/redirect |
| Change a redirect’s destination or type | REST /redirection/v1/redirect/<id> |
| Switch one redirect on or off | ai-puffer/redirection-set-enabled |
| Check your sitemap: provider, on or off, address, search visibility | ai-puffer/get-sitemaps |
We checked each change with a real request to the old address, and the sitemap by loading it: published posts are in it; noindexed, draft and private posts aren’t.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Plain address redirects only. Regular-expression rules, server-file modes, Yoast Premium’s redirect manager and other redirect plugins aren’t tested.
- Redirection’s own update ignores switching a rule on or off, so AI Puffer adds a small ability that does it and checks the saved state.
- Bulk changes stay closed: one redirect at a time.
- Checking the sitemap reads your settings. It doesn’t fetch other addresses, submit anything to search engines, or promise indexing.
