Images

The image generator puts a prompt box on your page: visitors describe an image and get it back, or attach a photo and describe what to change. Google’s Veo models can make short videos the same way.

Images is off until you turn it on under Settings › Tools. Then connect at least one image provider: AI Puffer Cloud on credits, or your own key for OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, xAI or Azure under Settings › AI. Replicate is under Settings › Connections › Images and voices.

AI Puffer › Images shows the generator as visitors will see it. Type a prompt, pick a model and send. To edit, select the paperclip, attach an image and describe the change.

Provider Create Edit
AI Puffer Cloud Yes, one 1024 × 1024 image at a time With Cloud models that edit
OpenAI Yes Yes
Google Yes, up to four at a time, and Veo video Yes
OpenRouter Yes With models that take and return images
xAI Yes Yes
Azure Yes No
Replicate Yes No

Edits take one source image, up to 10 MB.

The gear, Image Generator settings, opens Shortcode. Choose the options and select Copy shortcode. These choices change only the copied code; nothing is saved.

  • Allow visitor model selection: visitors pick from the models you allow under Frontend Models.
  • Show user history: logged-in visitors see their earlier images, can favourite, download, delete, or use one as the start of an edit.
  • Available actions: generate, edit, or both.
  • Theme and Font.

Or add the AI Puffer Image Generator block, which has the same options.

If you switch off visitor model selection, add provider and model to the shortcode, so it uses the provider you have.

Images made by logged-in visitors are saved to your Media Library, titled with their prompt. Guests’ images aren’t saved.

The other tabs under the gear save as you go:

  • Limits: how much guests, logged-in users or each role may use, when it starts over, and what people see when they reach it.
  • UI Text: the button labels, prompt hints and the history heading.
  • Custom CSS: styles for the Custom theme.
  • Frontend Models: which models visitors may choose.

Images for posts, made by the content writer and automations, are set up there, and can also use stock photos from Pexels and Pixabay.
