Back up your content files
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeUse UpdraftPlus to back up my configured WordPress content files locally, without a database backup, labelled Before file changes. Check current settings and preserve native exclusions. Request approval when required, then follow the returned job ID and report represented and missing file components, warnings and local file presence. Do not change site files, download archives or claim this is a complete hosting-account backup.
Changes content or settings on your site. See the recipe below for approval requirements. Read only cannot make changes.
What happens
Section titled “What happens”- Your assistant reads the configured content-file scope and current settings version.
- It queues one files-only backup under the selected approval policy.
- It checks the same job and reports the recorded components and any gaps.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Requires AI Puffer 2.5.22 or later, UpdraftPlus 1.26.14 or later and WordPress 6.9 or later with the Abilities API. Single-site WordPress only. Tested scope is UpdraftPlus Free; available on all AI Puffer plans with normal website-action allowances.
- These backups stay on your server. They do not upload to remote storage, send a report email or prune earlier backups. The new set is kept for manual removal in UpdraftPlus. Local files consume disk space and do not replace off-site storage or a tested restore.
- Uses your configured plugins, themes, uploads, must-use plugins and other wp-content components, with native exclusions preserved. WordPress core, wp-config.php, additional databases and other server files are outside this scope.
- A files-only backup does not include your WordPress database. An excluded or empty component may have no archive; report it rather than assuming it was captured.
