Connect Cursor or Claude Code

Cursor and Claude Code connect to the same AI Puffer server as ChatGPT and Claude, and can do the same things on your site. We tested both, in the free and paid plugin, on 19 October 2026: Cursor 3.25.9 and Claude Code 2.1.286.

  1. Open AI Puffer › Settings › Connections and select Manage my website. If it asks you to verify your email first, see step 3 of the full guide.
  2. Under Add an assistant, check the safety level and the user shown, and select Change if you want another. See Safety levels.
  3. Select Set it up manually. It shows the name and the server address, https://mcp.aipuffer.org/mcp.
  1. Open Customize › MCPs and add a custom remote MCP server named AI Puffer with the address https://mcp.aipuffer.org/mcp.
  2. Select Authenticate. AI Puffer opens in your browser: choose Allow.
  1. In your terminal, add the server and sign in:

    Terminal window
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http ai-puffer https://mcp.aipuffer.org/mcp
    claude mcp login ai-puffer
  2. AI Puffer opens in your browser: choose Allow.

  1. Back in wp-admin, select Check next to the new assistant. Finish steps 4 and 5 in the same browser, within 10 minutes; if the time runs out, start again.

Then ask, for example:

Use AI Puffer to show the name and address of my site. Do not change anything.

  • Everything works as in ChatGPT and Claude: the same tools, safety level, approvals and activity log.
  • --scope user makes AI Puffer available in all your Claude Code projects. Leave it out to add it to the current project only.
  • To reconnect, run claude mcp login ai-puffer again in Claude Code, or select Authenticate again in Cursor.
