Check recent email errors

WP Mail SMTP2 minutesReads onlyTested 31 Oct 2026
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeUse WP Mail SMTP to check up to 20 of my most recent recorded email-sending errors. Show their event IDs, dates and main error messages, group repeated problems, and explain what needs attention. State how many matching errors exist and how many you inspected. Do not change settings, clear logs or send email. If no errors are recorded, explain what that does and does not prove.

Reads only. Nothing on your site changes, at any safety level.

  1. Your assistant discovers the WP Mail SMTP abilities available on the selected site.
  2. It reads up to 20 error events and separates the matching total from the inspected sample.
  3. It summarizes repeated failures and explains the limits of the evidence.
  • Requires WP Mail SMTP 4.9 or later, WordPress 6.9 or later with the Abilities API, and an AI Puffer website connection. Uses the connected WordPress user’s WP Mail SMTP permissions. Debug-event inspection works with WP Mail SMTP Lite and Pro, on all AI Puffer plans.
  • These recipes only inspect recorded debug events. They do not change SMTP settings, clear logs, send a test email or prove inbox delivery. Full email logs and sending statistics require WP Mail SMTP Pro and are outside this tested Lite workflow.
  • The native Lite reader supports severity, limit and offset. It does not provide recipient or date-range filters.
  • The sample is newest first by event ID. Error recording is always enabled in the tested plugin, but events may have expired or been cleared, or no relevant attempt may have occurred. Optional debug recording can be off. An empty result does not prove delivery.
