Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeDelete the user “old-editor” and reassign all their posts, including drafts, to “editor-in-charge”. First show me both accounts and the planned change, then wait for my confirmation. Do not delete their posts.

Changes content or settings on your site. See the recipe below for approval requirements. Read only cannot make changes.

  1. Your assistant shows the user to delete and the user who will receive their posts.
  2. After your confirmation, it deletes the user and reassigns their posts.
  3. It checks that the user was deleted and their posts and drafts belong to the selected user. The content and status stay the same.
  • “Keep the account, but change its role from Editor to Subscriber instead.”
  • Replace both example usernames with the actual usernames. The user receiving the posts must already exist.
  • Deleting a user cannot be undone. Keep the confirmation and post reassignment in your request.
  • Your connected user needs permission to delete users. At Standard, deletion also requires approval in WordPress.
  • On WordPress Multisite, this removes the user from the selected site rather than deleting the network account. Other plugins may store additional user data.
