Posts, pages and images, from chat.

Write drafts, build pages from blocks, edit posts and pages one by one or several at once, publish or schedule them, create your own content types with their own fields, and add images with alt text, from a link, your device or a stock photo search. The everyday work of a WordPress site.

Core workflows tested with ChatGPT and Claude on 14–22 October 2026. The recipes below record each workflow’s test date.

Things to ask

  • “Turn these notes into a post. Keep it a draft.”A draft. Nothing goes live.
  • “Add two relevant internal links to my spring sale post without changing its wording.”Keeps supported blocks and formatting.
  • “Show the About page’s saved revisions and restore the one I choose.”Keeps its URL and publication status.
  • “Rename the About page to “About us”.”A change to a published page. Its content stays as it is.
  • “Publish the spring pricing post on Monday at 9:00.”Scheduled with WordPress.
  • “Add this image to the post as its featured image, with alt text.”Uploads the image, then sets it.
  • “Upload the photo I attached to my media library, with alt text.”Your original file, unchanged.
  • “Create a Case Studies section with a budget and a client name for each one.”A new content type with its own fields.
  • “Find a landscape stock photo of mountains and add it, with its credit.”Openly licensed. Credit and licence go in the caption.
  • “Look at my images and fill in any missing alt text, captions and titles.”Looks at each image. Keeps what’s already written.
  • “Build a Services page from blocks: a heading, two columns and a button. Keep it a draft.”A block-editor draft.
  • “Rename these three draft pages, and show me the changes first.”One preview, one approval, three edits.
  • “Read the brochure PDF and summarize it, with page numbers.”Pro. Reads the text, changes nothing.
  • “Check my home page on desktop and mobile for broken images and errors.”Opens it in a browser. Changes nothing.

Good to know

  • Revision restoration changes title, content and excerpt only, with a recovery revision and current-version checks. Publication status, dates, URL and current metadata stay unchanged. Revisions must be enabled with at least two versions retained.
  • Edits to a draft happen on their own at Standard. Edits to something already published require your approval.
  • New content types keep what’s already there: they never replace another plugin’s types or fields, and can’t be deleted or converted from chat. Fields are text, numbers or yes/no; ACF field groups are separate.
  • Block layouts use core blocks: heading, paragraph, group, columns, buttons, lists, quote, image (from your media library), separator and spacer. Supported static GenerateBlocks layouts are also available from 2.5.19; dynamic, synced and arbitrary third-party blocks remain outside this workflow.
  • Since 2.5.15, native block abilities support version-checked text and link edits, separate draft copies, and summary/FAQ insertion while preserving formatting and untouched blocks. Generic plain-content updates still refuse to flatten block documents. Dynamic, synced and arbitrary third-party blocks cannot be copied or edited. Whole-layout replacement remains a separate, explicit request.
  • A set of edits is previewed first and runs as one. If it stops halfway, you see which items ran; it never carries on by itself.
  • Every edit checks that the post hasn’t changed since your assistant read it. If it has, it stops and tells you.
  • Images come from a public HTTPS address, your device or a stock photo search: JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB.
  • Stock photos come from Openverse, a catalogue of openly licensed images. Licences differ, so check the original before using one for business.
  • SVG goes through its own check: simple shapes and gradients up to 20 KB, cleaned before it’s saved. At Standard it asks first.
  • Reading PDFs is Pro: text only, up to 2 MB and 100 pages. Scanned pages can’t be read.
  • Lighthouse audits (Beta) are available in Free and Premium: ask for one public page on mobile or desktop, with performance, accessibility, best-practice and SEO lab scores. Each completed audit uses one website action and no AI credits; Google receives the public URL. Beta allows 10 provider attempts per Cloud account per UTC day, one at a time, with shared capacity limits. Failed or blocked audits use no actions; other tools remain available. Availability and plan access may change. This is separate from the browser page check.
  • A page check opens public pages of your own site as a logged-out visitor sees them, at desktop or phone size. It reports text, links, images, browser errors and sideways scrolling. It isn’t a speed or Lighthouse score, and takes no screenshots.
  • Filling in missing text works on your media library, 10 images at a time, and never overwrites what’s there. Alt text already inside your posts stays as it is.
  • An image you attach is uploaded as the original file. In ChatGPT that happens from the chat; in Claude you get your site’s upload page, choose the file there, and Claude checks it arrived.
