Fill in missing image alt text, captions and titles
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeFind images missing alt text, captions or titles. View each image before writing short, accurate text, and fill only empty fields. Preserve existing text and leave decorative images’ alt text empty. Work in batches of 10. If you can’t view an image, skip it without guessing and continue. Report what you updated, skipped or couldn’t process.

What happens
Section titled “What happens”- Your assistant finds images with empty alt text, captions or titles, in groups of 10.
- It views each image before writing text. If an image cannot be viewed, it skips it and reports why.
- It fills only empty fields and checks that the text was saved. It repeats this for the remaining images.

Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Some images cannot be previewed, such as very large files or images stored by an external media service. These are skipped.
- Existing text and image files are unchanged. Decorative images keep empty alt text.
- This updates the media library. Alt text already saved inside posts is unchanged.
- No AI credits are used. Each successful search, image inspection and text update uses a website action. A text update with no empty fields uses none. At Standard, each update requires approval.
