Update a listing’s description
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeUpdate the description of my Things to Do listing “Example Museum” to: [new description]. Keep its other details and publication status, then show me the saved description.
Changes content or settings on your site. See the recipe below for approval requirements. Read only cannot make changes.
What happens
Section titled “What happens”- Your assistant finds the listing through its registered native route.
- It reads the current details and updates only the description.
- It checks the saved description and confirms the title, location, category and status stayed the same.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Plain-text descriptions were tested with GeoDirectory 2.8.197 and AI Puffer 2.5.18. Formatted descriptions were also verified in ChatGPT and Claude with AI Puffer 2.5.19 or later.
- For formatted descriptions, enable GeoDirectory’s Advanced Editor. Safe headings, paragraphs, bold text and links are preserved; executable content remains restricted.
- Existing block or builder content needs its supported native editing workflow; it must not be flattened to update text.
- At Standard, changes through the REST route require WordPress approval.
