Create a directory listing

GeoDirectory2 minutesChangesTested 28 Oct 2026
Paste into ChatGPT or ClaudeCreate a Things to Do listing for “Example Museum” as a draft, using this description, full address and category: [add your details]. Check for an existing matching listing first, then show me the saved result.

Changes content or settings on your site. See the recipe below for approval requirements. Read only cannot make changes.

  1. Your assistant reads the listing type’s creation schema and existing categories.
  2. It checks for a matching listing and fills the required fields from your details.
  3. It creates the listing and reads it back to confirm the description, address, category and publication status.
  • Tested with GeoDirectory 2.8.197, a custom Things to Do type and its existing free listing package, using AI Puffer 2.5.18.
  • Formatted descriptions need Advanced Editor enabled and AI Puffer 2.5.19 or later. Standard headings, paragraphs, bold text and safe links were verified in ChatGPT and Claude.
  • Required fields and package rules depend on your GeoDirectory configuration. Provide missing details when asked; paid package purchases are separate.
  • The native schema’s post_category field takes integer term IDs in an array. It is different from the taxonomy name.
  • At Standard, creation through the native REST route requires WordPress approval. Read only connections cannot create listings.
  • This workflow does not verify maps, geocoding, paid packages, event recurrence or email delivery.
