An online safety campaigner has criticised Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer over his approach to regulating social media companies.

Baroness Kidron told the BBC that the prime minister had been “late to the party” on the issue. She said the government was appeasing big technology firms instead of taking stronger action to protect users online.
